Ron is survived by his wife of 47 years, Beverly Marie Iddings Christensen; daughter, Christine Ann Christensen Olsen; two sons, Derek Ronald (Kristine) Christensen and Kyle Allen Christensen; five grandchildren, Anthony and Matthew Olsen, Dawsen, Leah and Jenna Christensen; and several cousins. In school, he studied to be a draftsman and in WWII he served in the US Navy aboard the USS Benewah. In fact, his snazzy uniform was what attracted Virginia Collins when they first met. Brandon is survived by his daughter, Hallie Lynn Perry; his mother, Vicky Harris; his sister, Natosha Orr; brother, David (Holly) Cooley; brother, Brendon (Valorie Rosatto) Perry; and sister, Brianna Mahan; nieces, Nevaeh Robinson and Aiyanna Perry; nephew, Kayden Schafer; grandmother, Carolyn (John) Gillam; grandfather, Roger Perry; three aunts, Molly (Eric) Johnson, Shawna Orr and Crystal Mc Quaid; and several cousins. Jamie also graduated from the Diesel Technical Institute in Cleveland, Ohio.
Sheldon collected Allis Chalmers and organized the Gathering of the Orange at the NYS Steam Pageant. They first ran a farm on “shares” until 1952, when they purchased and moved to a farm west of Geneva, NY. John, Rachel (David) Smith, and Alicia Rumsey; and his best friends, Nate Scott and Steve Pollock; and many other loving friends.
He had a tractor parts business, related to Allis Chalmers tractors. They also purchased the Noble farm in Seneca Castle, NY in 1959, renaming it Hemdale Farms. 13th) at the Rushville Mennonite Church in the Town of Gorham. He and Pete Nye worked together on the Eagle Project, which brought the Bald Eagle back to New York State. Chris’s in-laws include his mother-in-law, Karen Leach; two sisters-in-law, Stefanie (Randy) Angelo and Viktoria (Jose Alicea) Leach; his uncle Phillip (Catherine) Hackett; a very special “Squishy”; and his wife’s grandmother, Kay Hackett.
From a young age when she and her sister sang regularly on a local radio station, to her ability to play the piano and guitar by ear, to her time as the lead singer in a local country cover band called The Marauders [1970s], to the more recent assistance she gave in organizing Finger Lakes-area Blue Grass performances, music fed her heart.
She took an active role in cooking meals on-site in support of the 1974 Mohawk stand-off at Moss Lake, NY at which indigenous peoples were attempting to reclaim their traditional lands.
She designed and sewed many Native American “ribbon” shirts that were used in local reenactments.
